ISPS South Sudan Participates in the First China–Africa Human Rights Seminar

The Institute for Strategic and Policy Studies (ISPS) South Sudan participated in the First China–Africa Human Rights Seminar, held at the Sheraton Luxury Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 21st to 22nd August 2025.

The landmark event, which focused on development as a fundamental human right, brought together over 2,000 delegates representing government agencies, the diplomatic community, business practitioners, think tanks, university leaders, renowned professors, and researchers from across Africa and China.

Delegates from 47 African countries, alongside representatives from China, engaged in in-depth discussions on how best to promote and protect human rights in Africa, China, and globally.

This seminar marks the first-ever joint initiative between Africa and China dedicated to advancing dialogue and cooperation on human rights issues.

Professor Melha Rout Biel, Executive Director of ISPS South Sudan, represented the Republic of South Sudan at the event. He was honored to deliver one of the keynote speeches, contributing valuable insights on the role of sustainable development in strengthening human rights frameworks.
